Project Pan 36 - 52

If you've been around the blog world for a while, you probably have come across a Project Pan series or two before. (Previous posts can be found here.) For those who don't know what Project Pan is, this is what it is about: basically, you go on a no-buy or low-buy until you use up the things you already have. I'm sure everyone has experienced that point where your bathroom or vanity is overfull of half-empty products, and yet you keep on buying more. The idea behind Project Pan is to (a) finish using the products you already own (or, if you hate them, throw them out!) and (b) not buy products that you already have. So I will be repurchasing things I finish, or buying things that I still need, but no more wasting money on things I already have in my collection. Bonus: who doesn't find empties posts deeply satisfying on some level?

Today's post features a preliminary clean-up of my makeup collection. I have a terrible habit of finishing something like mascara and then never chucking it out. Another bad habit: realising something is almost finished, buying a new one, and then getting excited about the new one and leaving the almost-finished old one lying on the shelf forever.

36. Hey Gorgeous Pure Intense Volume Mascara
Will I repurchase? No.

37. Essence Stays No Matter What Mascara
Will I repurchase? No.

38. Essence Multi Action Waterproof Mascara
Will I repurchase? No.

39. Maybelline The Rocket Mascara
Will I repurchase? Yes, I just have.

40 + 41. L'Oreal False Lash Wings Mascara
Will I repurchase? Yes (clearly! haha), I love this mascara, just wish it was a tad cheaper.

42. Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream
Will I repurchase? Yes - this is my go-to base product! I squeezed and scooped every last drop out of this one!

43. Garnier BB Cream Eye Roller
Will I repurchase? No - I didn't even finish this one but I'm still throwing it out.. I love the eye roller itself, but the formula has the same problems as the original BB cream - too dark a shade and far too oily on the skin.

44. Almay Wake Up Undereye Concealer
Will I repurchase? No. The concealer itself was average but I am not a far of these brush-type products.

45. Catrice Retouch Light Reflecting Concealer
Will I repurchase? No. Again, I've decided I don't like these products that have the built-in brush. I also felt that there wasn't nearly enough product in here, it ran out in a flash. (Which is a pity, because the concealer itself was lovely and my perfect shade.)

46. Essence Gel Eye Pencil
Will I repurchase? Yes. Ignore the name, it's a normal twist-up eye pencil but it has decent pigmentation and staying power and is great value for money.

47. Essence Stay With Me Lipgloss
Will I repurchase? No. I'm not a big fan of lipgloss so I'm slowly going to get rid of all the ones that I don't love.

48. Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
Sadly my first EFB has come to the end of it's life after 2 years of daily use and many many washings. I've bought a replacement, so it's time for this one to be thrown out.

49. UBU Flat Foundation Brush
40. QVS Flat Foundation Brush and Concealer Brush
After switching to larger buffing brushes for foundation application, I just can't go back to flat foundation brushes. I haven't used either of these in over 2 years, so there isn't any point in still keeping them.

50 + 51. Batiste Dry Shampoo in Tropical
Will I repurchase? Yes, again and again! I'm never far from my trusty Batiste Dry Shampoo, to the point where I obsessively buy a new one the moment I suspect my existing can is running out. But for now - use up all the products in my possession before I buy more!

  1. When I read your last post, I wanted to do the same and I'm still trying to gather enough empty products to do my first empties post. Three weeks ago, I cleared out my beauty products, should have thought about including the ones that I threw out.
I love Essence products in general, but I must say their mascaras are rather disappointing.

    1. I have to agree about essence mascaras - I normally end up buying them when I need one in an emergency and can't wait for payday but they're never more than mediocre
