Better late than never! I've been having some technical difficulties with my laptop, but things seem to be working now, so let's head on! (As always, products marked with an asterisk* were provided for review, all others were personally purchased by me.)
essence soo glow! cream to powder highlighter
I picked this goodie up on Takealot on a whim and I'm so glad I did! The creamy texture of this highlighter means it's super easy to apply and blend (as you can probably see from the surface, I just use my (clean!) fingers), but it sets quickly to a more powdery finish, so it stays put once it's on. Perfect for adding that much-desired highlight to your cheekbones! (And at only R54, super budget friendly to boot!)
Rain Bee Essential Remedies Sleep Balm
I got this goodie from my Mommy for Christmas as I have had serious problems sleeping of late (for the first half of December I was even on hardcore prescription meds to try and reset my sleep cycle). I use this every night before bed, rubbing a little bit behind my ears, on my temples and along my collarbones. It has such a wonderful relaxing scent (and valarian has long been used as a herbal remedy for anxiety, I've taken it myself in the past) and I definitely feel like it helps me to sleep better.
Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream*
I got this cream in my recent Secret Box and have been loving it! Just the smallest amount applied to my damp hair helps make it so soft, shiny and manageable, keeping frizz at bay all day.
Wet n Wild Megalast Lipsticks
(All swatches one swipe of colour)
Without a doubt, my all-time favourite lipsticks! You just cannot beat this quality at under R50 each! The staying power is incredible and the formula goes on creamy and smooth, drying to a semi-matte finish. (I haven't had problems such a flaking wearing matte lipsticks, but because I wear bold lipstick almost every day, I keep my lips in tip-top condition).I've been using these non stop this summer. I've raved about Stoplight Red (bottom swatch) for over a year (including in this post) and have probably worn it at least twice a week all summer. My other fave this month as been Sugar Plum Fairy (second from top) - a gorgeous deep plum. I've recently picked up four more, including the vampy Cherry Bomb (top swatch) that I'm very excited to wear in the cooler months.
Revlon Colorburst Balms
(All swatches one swipe of colour)
When I haven't been wearing Stoplight Red or Sugar Plum Fairy this past month, I was probably wearing one of these. With the exception of the Matte Balm in Shameless (the dark purple), my other balms are all the original Balm Stain formula. From top to bottom on the swatches, they are the shades Lovesick, Shameless, Rendevoux, Smitten, Sweetheart and Honey. My particular faves have been the darker pinks, Lovesick and Sweetheart. This Balm Stains give a lovely sheer colour that can be built up, are moisturising and leave a stain of colour on your lips even once they have worn off, and are perfect for really hot summer days.
Lush Karma Komba Shampoo Bar
If you haven't yet smelled a Lush Shampoo Bar, mere words cannot convey to you how amazing they smell! The main ingredient contributing to the Karma Komba scent is sweet orange oil, but overall it just smells like yum! Most importantly, the reason I have been converted to this shampoo? For the first time in my LIFE I have second-day hair that is clean enough to wear loose, even without dry shampoo! With dry shampoo, I can go a third day without washing my hair. That's basically a miracle in my book, as no matter what I've tried (and trust me, I've tried everything, including trying the no-poo movement) my hair has always been greasy by the end of day 1. No more oily scalp and tangled dry ends, just balanced, healthy hair! Lush, you have changed my life! #LushForLife
