[Review] Catrice Products Part 2

(You can see Part 1 here)

BB Allround Foundation Multi-Benefit Make Up in 010 Light Beige* (RRP R76.95)

I think this one's my new favourite BB cream, just beating out my Garnier one. It's moisturising without being greasy or shiny, gives decent coverage and a smooth finish, and has decent staying powder. It also has SPF30. I apply this using the Wayne Goss method - powder before applying BB cream - and add just a touch of powder to my T-zone and then that's it - no more touch ups and no shininess for the day.

Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette in 010 All Nude* (RRP R79.95)

This mini palette contains 6 nude shades, with varying degrees of shimmer. The two lightest shades work well as highlighters, and the four darker shades can be used to create a variety of looks. The shadows apply well with minimal fallout and blend easily (although I use my Real Techniques brushes - the palette does come with a brush/applicator, but like most that come in palettes, it's not very good). The packaging is sleek and fastens securely, so it's perfect for your makeup bag. This little palette isn't going to beat your high-end offerings, but as far as a drugstore offering goes, it's very good.

Ultimate Colour Lipstick in 260 It's a Matt World* (RRP R67.96)

(Yes, I do need another red lipstick!) I first fell in love with the packaging of this lipstick - it's rare to find a drugstore lipstick with a metal case, which makes this lipstick just feel more expensive than it is. This lipstick goes on smoothly and creamily - despite being a matt lipstick (which have a bad reputation for being very drying), it's very comfortable to wear. The pigmentation is excellent, and it survived all the way through a girl's night out (what more do you need?!). This red is a little bit on the warmer side, which I was wary of being so pale, but it looks lovely on me (well, I think so at least!), so I think this colour would suit most skin tones.

Infinite Shine Lip Gloss in 070 Very Very Raspberry* (RRP R49.95)

Ok, to be honest, lip gloss isn't really my thing. If I'm going to put something on my lips, 95% of the time, it'll be lipstick. But, on the occasion I want something lighter, this is a nice shade to have in my stash. It's a subtle red-pink with just a hint of golden shimmer - very flattering. As far as lip glosses go, it's not too sticky (although with the Cape Town wind, I'd still keep this for a day when I'm wearing my hair up). The colour also hangs around for an hour or two after application and the scent is gentle and not in-your-face. And it is very shiny and pretty.

Have you tried any of these products from Catrice? What did you think? If not, are there any you would like to try?

PS Sorry for the weird lighting in these photos - as I was taking them, the sun slipped behind a cloud and the rain reappeared. Sigh.

  1. Love the Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette and it's not even that pricey. Great review Laura Jane. :)
