Recent Adventuring, Part 2

The last couple of weeks have been insanely busy: lots of working hard, but also a bit of playing hard! I thought I'd share a few of the highlights, through a selection of Instagram photos.

This past weekend, we were lucky enough to have not one, but two of our old labmates come down to visit us (purely by coincidence at the same time!). So of course, the very first thing we had to do was go wine tasting, as it was a beautiful sunny day! Our first stop was at Oldenburg, where we had the most beautiful view from the tasting room!

After sampling four well-crafted wines, we then headed even further up the valley to Rainbow's End, which really is well named! We were lucky enough to have the boutique winery's winemaker take us around. There's nothing quite like the beautiful smell of a small cellar! After being shown the cellar, we headed upstairs to taste eight excellent wines. The winemaker's passion for his craft was obvious, and he shared some of his wisdom with us as we all chatted over glass after glass of red wine. I'm looking forward to opening and enjoying the wine I purchased :) (Click on image to enlarge!)

After all this wine, we were in need for some sustanance! We decided that the best thing to do would be to head to Fairview, where some more wine was had, but most importantly, I could indulge in plenty of their amazing cheese! As always, I headed home with a basket full of cheeses and preserves! I even scored a new lipbalm! (Yes, goats milk lipbalm! It's really nice and moisturizing, and smells just like vanilla extract - my favourite scent!)
