I finally got a haircut!

Okay, first off, I need to explain that I'm growing my hair out. For those of you who don't know me IRL, this is the average haircut I've had for the last three years:

Midway through last year, I decided that I wanted a change, so I set out on my growing expedition. The main challenge was getting the back to grow out, because at one point, it was very short at the back (sort of the Victoria Beckham asymmetric bob thing). Then there's the awkward in-between stage where it's not short, but it's not yet at your shoulders, and no matter what you try, it's pretty much awful. There were days I just wanted to take a pair of scissors to my own hair. But, perseverance pays off, and eventually my hair reached my shoulders once more! After finally getting some length, it was time for a good shaping, to get some long layers and movement back in. (And, of course, a touch-up at the roots!)

So, on Saturday I finally got a chance to take the day off and spend a few delightfully self-indulgent hours at the salon. (Please forgive the awful slept-on "before" hair...)

Any thoughts on the new hair? (Now I just really wish I could afford a ghd- my hair always looks so shiny after using one!)
Are you busy undergoing a hair transformation? If so, what are you aiming for?
